Abraham’s Life
Sep 12th, 2008 by brami-10
My name is Abraham Sutanto. I was born in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. I was born in a Christian family. My dad’s name is Budi Sutanto. He is a great guy. He is very smart. I really admire his smartnest and I really want to be like him. When I had to choose my field of study in university, I was going to choose the same field as his, Mechanical Engineering in Institute of Technology Sepuluh Nopember (ITS). Yes my father is an ITS alumni (M-09).
My mother’s name is Ratnawati. She is also a great woman to me. She is a tough and a very determined woman. She graduated from University of Airlangga (Unair). Her background in Marketing Management (S1), Accounting (S1), and Financial Management (S2) really teach me a lot about a lot of important decisions related with Management, Money, and many other stuff since I was still in her womb (She is having me when she was finishing her bachelor’s thesis). She is a very influenced in my family. Most of my friends said that I really looks like her.
I have one younger brother, his name is William Sutanto. He is a very diligent, nice, patient, calm and smart man. He is more looks like my dad. He studied Electrical Engineering (Electronical) in Petra Christian University (Universitas Kristen Petra).
I was none like my brother. I was lazy and I really hate to study, especially when the course forced me to memorize almost everything. I almost get my teacher’s red pen run out of ink because they should write my study report with it haha. I always get bad score in almost every courses when I was in Elementary School (Petra 5). I almost could not get in to Petra 3 Junior High School (one of the favourite Private Junior High School). I was rank 4th or 5th from the last in the list of students that are accepted in that school.
The situation was not change much in Junior High. And I started to realize that I am not good memorize something. But later I realize that I am not good in memorize something that I don’t like to memorize.
I remember I fell in love for the first time at this time and I still love her till now. The love of my life is FOOTBALL hahaha… My first favourite team is Italy and then my first favourite league team come from England, Chelsea because their uniform’s color is blue and they are always underdog at that time (about 1995-1997) but their spirit to win the game is very big. It really touches my heart. Not quite long after that I change my favourite team, Chelsea, with Juventus (one of the best team in Italy and world) because of their spirit also. And the historical background of the formation of this team is also the same spirit, the young spirit. At that time I also met my best friend until now Lerry.
In Senior High School, Petra 2, I started to know that I (sometimes hehe) enjoy to study mathematics, physics because it doesn’t too much memory. It just needs logic thinking. Eventhough I am not the best in Math and Physics compared to others but I think I like those stuff.
In the last year of my senior high, I need to prepare myself to continue my study. What am I going to take? What is my dream about my future, about my job later, about everything. At that time, I was so confused. My parents really hoped that I could be a doctor. Because they think it is good, you know, financially (but I started to think now that I don’t think it is not that simple. You become a doctor and than you become a rich man. Hmm. I think it is hard. Now, you can see that there are thousands of doctor that are not rich… hehehe). I started to consider myself to take medical study to become a doctor. Unair, Unibraw and Udayana become my primary target to choose. But then I decided not to choose medical study because, beside the reason above, I think I could not be a good doctor because I do not like to study biology, I can not see blood and the important is I dont like their job. Because they always meet sick people to do their ‘business’ hahaha.
(To be continued)
Aku suka bacanya Bram. Meskipun panjang, kamu gak buat tulisannya jadi mbosenin. Bahasa Inggrismu juga bagus banget. yang buat jadi bagus karena meskipun itu bahasa asing, kamu pake pilihan kata yg mudah dimengerti. anak kalimatnya pun sederhana. Gak yang aneh2, which.. that..
dobel2..
Can’t wait to read your next writing! Cayo!
Menanggapi post-mu “dua bulan setelah pernikahan” kenapa gak jadi penulis aja? Kalo aku, kepingin suatu saat nanti jadi penulis.
